Dear Lake City Secondary Students, Parents, and Caregivers,
Welcome back to another school year at Lake City Secondary. I hope your summer provided opportunities to relax, connect with loved ones, and enjoy everything our community has to offer.
For those I have not yet met, my name is Yvonne Davis, and I am proud to serve as the Principal of Lake City Secondary. As a leader, I believe that strong relationships, high expectations, and a genuine sense of belonging create the conditions for students to thrive. My commitment is to work alongside students, staff, families, and our community to ensure that every student feels seen, supported, and inspired to achieve their personal best.
At Lake City Secondary, we know that learning happens best when students feel connected. We are committed to creating a school where students feel safe, respected, included, and challenged. Our school culture is guided by our Code of Conduct: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe, and Be Engaged. These expectations shape how we learn, work together, and contribute to our school community.
One message I want to emphasize as we begin the year is that attendance matters. Simply put, attendance is success. Students benefit from the learning opportunities, support, extracurricular activities, and relationships that make school meaningful when they are in attendance. Every day counts, and regular attendance is one of the strongest foundations for academic achievement, personal growth, and future success.
Our staff will work tirelessly to support students who are present, engaged, and invested in their learning. We believe in every student’s potential and are committed to helping them succeed. When students show up, participate, and ask for support when they need it, great things happen.
The partnership between home and school is essential. Thank you for the encouragement, guidance, and support you provide your children every day. Together, we can ensure that every student experiences a strong sense of belonging and has every opportunity to be successful.
I am excited for the year ahead and all that we will accomplish together. On behalf of the entire staff at Lake City Secondary, welcome back. We look forward to a year of learning, growth, connection, and achievement.
