<p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Ms. Strickland‘s Drama 10-12 students spent the evening at Williams Lake Studio Theatre’s performance of “The Book of Will“. <p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Grade 12 students in CCSD27 can jump-start their trades career through the Thompson Rivers University Dual Credit Program! This unique opportunity lets students earn both high school graduation credits and post-secondary credits while completing a foundation year in one of four trades: Residential Carpentry, Heavy Duty Technician, Welding, or Residential Electrical. Tuition is covered through partnerships, with students only responsible for fees, books, and tools. The event showcased a wide range of educational pathways, career training options, and community supports available right here in our region. Through campus tours, and conversations with faculty and local service providers, students gained valuable insights into post-secondary opportunities and resources that can support their learning journeys. <p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Students from Chilcotin Road Elementary teamed up with Mr. Hutch’s woodwork class to build candle holders, learning side by side with older peers. <p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Oi Moliner-Clark finished his 2-year research project on mule deer winter range. His extensive knowledge of the flora and fauna of the area was remarkable as well as his understanding of the intricacies of field research. It was a great way to remove barriers for people from accessing pre-loved clothing as well as extend the life of items.
